Any thoughts on what might cause a sporadic misfire?
I had to replace the cats on mine; oof, were those expensive to replace.

Not the straight 6, plus several states away, but love that red interior. And stick.

“Sporadic Mi sfire” would be a fantastic band name...

My best guess would be the distributor points

Could be a crank position sensor or distributor intermittently failing. Could be a coil starting to fail.
Could be gremlins in the electrical system that are much harder to find.
I o wned a ZJ w/ the 4L for 16 years and had a few of these issues.

Yeah, if it were closer I’d at least be interested in looking at it, but no way I’m going that far for something this problematic.
I can still dream. Just wait for my next post, though, and you’ll see why this minor dream got sideswiped by major fantasies of the PNW.

Could be squirrels living in the cylinders.

Even just worn out spark plugs might cause it, I would imagine

It’s ok, I’m not going to bother with it. If it were local, I might go check it out in better times.
